When he’s good, he’s brilliant. Actually, I think he’s almost always good.
I started reading Charlie Custer’s blog ChinaGeeks about two years ago while I was still living in Jinan. He was the first China watcher, whose opinion I respected. People from different camps have labelled him all sorts of things. I almost always agree with what he says. I see in him a person who cares deeply about the people of China. If he is critical, it is because he cares and wants the country to improve and take better care of those people. Well, that’s my take on him.
Anyway, I’m going to stop singing his praises before I make myself sick. I think this post is one of his better ones. Enjoy!
